摘要
目的对昆明医科大学2011级新生英语学习需求的调查,了解新生英语学习需求.方法采取系统抽样的方法,抽取了昆明医科大学2011级新生中学号为双号的1 045名新生为被调查对象,结合语言学习策略量表和外语课堂焦虑量表,采取自行设计的问卷,研究医学新生英语学习策略、学习困难及学习需求,以及它们之间的关系.结果昆明医科大学新生在英语学习中仅是有时候运用语言学习策略(交际策略=2.84±0.79,情感策略=3.14±0.60);新生在英语课堂学习中,有时候会出现焦虑情况2.74±0.97).新生的学习策略运用越差,焦虑越明显(P<0.05);昆明医科大学新生对于英语专业信息期待较高(4.12±0.91),对现行大学英语教学基本满意(=2.97±0.82);12.4%的新生认为大学英语课程应该至少开设到大三,58.8%的新生认为整个大学阶段都应该开设.新生对于课程开设时间需求越高,其新生专业信息期待越大(P<0.01).结论应加强英语学习策略、学习方法的课堂教育,加强课堂口语学习;大力发展医学英语课程;大学英语课程类型设置应该多元化,加大选修课力度,尤其是加大技能型选修课的设置;课程设置时间应该增长,创造更好的自主学习条件.
Objective To investigate the strategies,difficulties and influencing factors in English study of medical new entrants via English needs analysis of 2011 entrants of Kunming Medical University so as to understand the needs of new entrants in English learning.Methods By systematic sampling,1 045 new entrants in grade 2011 with even student numbers were chosen as investigation objects.A questionnaire composed of Strategy Inventory Language Learning and Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale were used in the study to learn the the strategies,difficulties and needs in English study and their correlation.Results The new entrants used learning strategies only occasionally(2.84±0.79,3.14±0.60)and they occasionally experienced classroom anxiety(2.74±0.97).The new entrants with higher professional expectation made better use of their strategies(P=0.001).The new entrants of Kunming Medical University held high professional expectations(4.12±0.91).12.4% new entrants considered its necessary to open English course at least till the third year,and 58.8% considered its necessary to open it through out their university years.New entrants with higher professional expectation required more teaching hours(P=0.000).Conclusion It is necessary for the teachers to attach more importance to learning strategy and method teaching,oral English,and Medical English courses.It is suggested that the university should provide the new entrants with more English optional courses,especially those with skills.The English course should be lengthened and better self-study conditions should be made.
