The Internet of Things is a new engine which can respond to the international financial crisis and pull global economic growth, is officially classified as one of the development of national strategic emerging industries and is the highlight of the national 12th Five-Year Plan. The paper describes the specific application of the Internet of Things in ten key areas, makes an analysis of the benefits the Internet of Things provides to the people＇s production and life and gives a description of the Internet of Things application prospects.
