City informatization will not develop without the information highway; the broadband MAN provides a high speed path for city informatization. IP and ATM networks will act as core platforms for broadband MANs with broadband access technology as major access method. The global broadband MAN solution relies on the application of IP soft technology. The integration of these three networks is the trend, and value added services are drivers for network development.
