In this paper,the tests were done firstly to study the voluminal character of SMA mixture with the variety to fine aggregate component;the relationship between VCA (the voids in the coarse aggregate)and physical characteristics of SMA,according to the Marshall Test on the different gradation SMA mixtures was analysised by means of nomogram.The change in the SMA mechanilal characteristics with Various VCA It was proved that VCA gets animportant role in the design of SMA composites
