摘要
２１世纪来临的前夕，香港和上海两地展开了评选“十佳建筑”的活动．这个活动唤起人们对解决公共环境问题的重视与关注．本文回顾了这次活动，并对这两个城市的“十佳建筑”在质量、设计、技术、风格和各自代表的文化与上做了比较。并从近来建筑界谈论比较多的话题；本土与外来，传统与现代，建筑与环境，发展与破坏等方面进行分析。这次评选比较强调建筑外观的审美标准。相信在不远的将来，人们将会更加关注生态设计并将其作为评选标准之一。
By the year of 2000 the activities of election of celebrity architecture were held both in Hong Kong and Shanghai. The activities aroused extensive interests and proved an effective way to enhance the public awareness for environment in their home towns. This articlerevisws the exercises of election in Hong Kong and Shanghai. The prominent celebrity architecture elected both in Hong Kong and Shanhai are compared in their election process, qualify, design, technology, style and culture they represented. Some popular topics in recent architectural discourse, e.g,. local and overseas, tradition and modern. architecture and environment, development or destroy, are discussed. Current elections mainly emphasize the appearance and facade of building with an aesthetic value. In the long run, ecological value should be added and operated by judging eyes.
