根据城市规划发展的历史总结出贯穿其中的两种基本思想——精英主义和平民主义，通过对它们的社会根源、历程、特征分析，结合当今社会的要求和人类文明的未来发展趋势，探讨城市规划未来的发展方向和需要转变的规划理念。
The author analyzes the social origins, course and features of two fundamental thoughts, elitism and plebeianism that have gone through the development of city planning, and presents future tendency and concepts in city planning, in view of current society demands and cultural development.
