摘要 Since the outset of post-Mao reform, China has been actively integrating into global society and in doing so it has become an integral part of the international system. Based on data drawn from a thirteen-city public opinion survey in 2008, this study indicates that a majority of the surveyed respondents, especially those in urban China, had positive attitudes toward liberal internationalism, economic internationalism, and nationalism. Meanwhile, this study concludes that continued economic development and the resulting expansion of higher education have produced two contradictory trends.
