The present paper deals with the Geometridae genus Syzeuxis Hampson, with descriptions of four new species from China and redescriptions of two old species. A key to all known species was prepared. The type specimens are kept in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.Key to species1 Forewing chiefly blackish brown below cell S. calamisteria sp.nov. Forewing not blackish brown below cell2 2 Large sized (length of forewing above 18 mm); forewing green S. tessellifimbria Small sized (length of forewing less than 15 mm); forewing not green3 3 Median and postmedian lines of forewing forming big black specks on costa;hindwing with lower half of postmedian line thickened; male hindwing with no lobe at base4 Costa black specks at median and postmedian lines in forewing thin and small; hindwing with postmedian line extremely slender; male hindwing with a small lobe 5 4 Small sized (length of forewing 9 mm); black specks on forewing costa with lower part cut off S. miniocalaria sp.nov. Large sized (length of forewing above 12 mm); black specks on forewing costa sharply ended downwards S. trinotaria 5 Middle of forewing distal margin not projected, postmedian line distinct and complete; distal half of costa in valva of male straight, terminal angle of valva not dropped down S. extritonaria Middle of forewing distal margin slightly projected, postmedian line interrupted and blurred; distal half of costa in valva of male rounded, terminal angle of valva dropped down S. neotritonaria sp.nov. Syzeuxis tessellifimbria Prout, 1926 (Figs.1, 2:b, 2:c, 5:a) Diagnosis. Length of forewing:♂18 19?mm,♀21?mm. Forewing green, areole double. Male hindwing with a small lobe at base. Specimens examined.1♂, Pianma, Lushui, Yunnan, 2?300?m, 30.Ⅴ.1981; 3♀♀,Mêdog, Tibet, 2?750 m, 21 23.Ⅷ.1982; 1♂, Tibet. Distribution.Yunnan Province,Tibet; Nepal, Sikkim. Syzeuxis calamisteria sp. nov. (Fig. 5:b) Length of forewing.♂,♀15 mm. Forewing with outer margin a little bowed. Forewing black, markings yellow, tinged with greenish and with metallic gloss, greenish yellow bands below costa and on the terminal of the wing very distinct. Hindwing light grayish yellow, scattered with dark gray; postmedian band dark gray. Markings of forewing and pale part of hindwing tinged with reddish on underside, especially toward terminal part. Forewing with areole double. Discocellulars of hindwing biangulate. Male hindwing with a small lobe at base. ♂ genitalia (Fig.3:a).Closely related to S. tessellifimbria. The big process under tegumen shorter. Valva much shorter, triangulated. Aedeagus shorter and broader, vesica with a bunch of thin spines. ♀ genitalia (Fig. 3:b). Holotype ♀, Mêdog, Tibet, 2?750?m, 23.Ⅷ.1982. Paratype 1♀, same as holotype, 22.Ⅷ.1982.; 1♂,1♀, Beibeng, Mêdog, Tibet, 850 m, 21.Ⅴ.1983. All collected by HAN Yin Heng. Distribution.Xizang. Syzeuxis trinotaria (Moore, 1868) (Fig. 2:a, 5: d) Diagnosis. Length of forewing:13?mm, ♀14?mm. Forewing greenish yellow, with two big black triangle specks on costa. Postmedian line of hindwing well expressed. Forewing with a single areole. Discocellulars of hindwing not biangulate, M 3 and Cu 1 shortly stalked. Male hindwing with no lobe at base. Specimens examined.1, Kosi, Pheksinda, Nepal, 780 m, 14 Ⅶ,1990; 1♀, same as above, 14 18.Ⅵ.1990. Distribution.India, Nepal, Sikkim. Syzeuxis miniocalaria sp. nov. (Fig. 5: c) Length of forewing.♂9?mm. Pale yellowish brown. Forewing apex a little pointed, outer margin a little bowed at middle. Markings very similar to those in S. trinotaria (Moore), but black specks on forewing costa with lower part cut off, hindwing with postmedian suddenly broadened. Forewing with a single areole. Discocellulars of hindwing not biangulate. Male hindwing with no lobe at base. ♂ genitalia (Fig.3:c).Uncus narrowed at middle. The big process under tegumen like that in S. trinotaria (Moore).
