摘要
记述采自中国广东始兴车八岭国家级自然保护区连唇步甲属 Sofota1新种 :黑连唇步甲 Sofota nigrum,sp.nov.。
Sofota nigrum is described and illustrated as new to science in this paper. The type specimen is deposited in the Insect Collection of South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. 1. Sofota nigrum , sp. nov. (Figs.1~3) Female: Length: 12.5 mm, width: 5.7 mm. Black, shining species; head broad (with ratio of length to width as 1∶1.2), eyes large, semiglobate, antennae pubescent from the 4 th joints; pronotum strongly transverse, front angles rounded, while hind ones nearly rectangular but obtused, basal foveae large, medial line distinct, lateral margin with 2 setae, front one at 1/3 anteriorly, hind one at the very point of the hind angle, legs with 4 th tarsi bilobed, claw pectinatus; elytra elongate oviform, with outer apical angle point, while inner angle obtused, striae fine, but distinct, interval 3 with 2 setae which closed to stria 3; female stylus short and stout. Male: unknown. The new species is similar to S. chujoi Jedlika, 1951, but easily separated from the latter by larger and black body, and two apical setae of ligula distinctly longer than the pubescence. Holotype ♀, Chebaling Natural Reserve, Guangdong Province, China, 20-IV-1990, Chen Shoujian leg.
