摘要
英语委婉语是日常生活中一种普遍的语言和文化现象,被广泛使用,成为英语词汇中不可分割的重要组成部分。委婉语应同时遵循两个基本语用原则,即:合作原则和礼貌原则。此篇文章从语用学的角度分析英语委婉语,研究委婉语在交际过程中对合作原则的违背以及对礼貌原则的遵守。
English euphemism is a universal linguistic widely and vividly used and become an important part in and cultural phenomenon in daily life. They are English vocabulary. Euphemism should follow two basic principles at the same time, namely, cooperative principle and politeness principle. This paper analyzes English euphemism from the perspective of pragmatic and studies euphemisms that violate the cooperative prin- ciple and observe politeness principle.
