摘要
连词and连接的表达式A and B可以表达时间、因果、条件、让步、目的多种语义。从基于使用的语料出发,尝试在Goldberg构式语法的理论框架下探讨A and B多种语义存在的认知基础,发现A and B是个独立的构式,其中心意义是表示同时或先后发生的时间意义,其它的因果、条件、让步、目的意义是时间意义的隐喻投射。时间意义到因果、条件、让步、目的意义之间的映射可能在于它们之间外延和内涵的传承。
Structure A and B linked by the coordinator and can indicate temporal, cause-result, conditionality, concession and purpose relations. By use of the usage-based data, this paper aims to explore the mechanism underlying the polysemic structure A and B under the framework of Goldberg＇s construction grammar. It is found that A and B structure is an independent construction, the temporal relations being the central meaning and the other relations like cause-result, conditionality, concession and purpose being metaphorically mapped from the temporal meaning. The mapping is due to the process of the impartment and inherence of the connotation and denotation of these relations concerned
