摘要
2005年起。辽宁在全国率先开展大规模的棚户区改造工作，7年来累计改善了70．6万户、211万棚户区居民的居住条件。一些专家学者认为，辽宁改造棚户区的成功经验对全球贫民窟问题的解决、对应对中国城市化的挑战、对全国棚户区改造的推进，均具有重要的实践和理论意义。
From 2005, Liaoning took the lead in the large-scale transformation of the shanty areas in China. Over seven years, it had improved the living conditions of 2.11 million residents of 706,000 families in shanty areas, and changed the shanty families, communities, cities and Liaoning economic society. Some experts believed that the successful experience of Liaoning＇s transformation of shanty areas has important practical and theoretical significance in the solution of global slums, response to the challenges of urbanization in China, and promotion of shanty area transformation.
