Suspension quantitative bactericidal test indicated that the mixed solution of 0 125% hydrogen peroxide and 0 125% potassium iodide with a 1 min contact time could kill 99 97% of both Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli and the mixed solution of 0 250% solutions of both ingredients with a 0 5 min contact time could kill 99 98% of both bacteria 0 250% hydrogen peroxide with a 3 min contact time could kill <40% of both bacteria and 0 250% potassium iodide did not show obvious bactericidal efficacy
