Particulate organic carbon (POC) in Taiwan Strait during two cruses in summer 1997 and winter 1998

摘要 1997~ 1 998年台湾海峡两个航次的数据表明 ,颗粒有机碳 (POC)的平均含量为 0 .1 2 0± 0 .0 0 9mg/dm3 ,表层POC浓度在夏季和冬季分别存在几个高值区。POC在随深度变化的剖面分布图中 ,最大值出现在 1 0m层 ,底层水明显受再悬浮影响 ,这一剖面的变化规律普遍存在于整个海区及不同季节。夏季POC的深度变化幅度要显著大于冬季 ,这与垂直混合作用有关。POC与Chl a相关性较差 ,暗示以Chl a估算浮游植物的不确定性及POC产生及来源的复杂性。 Particulate organic carbon data, collected from 1997 to 1998 in Taiwan Strait, are presented and discussed. POC concentration was 0.120±0.009mg/dm 3, which is consistent with the previous data. The surface POC distribution in the summer shows that POC is higher near the Nan'ao island, which is correlated with the high nutrients in the bottom. Another higher area is located near the Penghu islands, which is relatied with primary production. In winter, the higher area is located in the north of the Taiwan strait, in direct relation with the coastal current. From the POC concentrations with the depth, we can see that the POC content in 10m is higher than that in surface. Perhaps this is because of particle sinking, most of the plankton sensitive to the light, or large amount of primary production produced by DOC. In the bottom, POC is influenced by resespension. Contribution of phytoplankton to POC in summer and winter was estimated to be about 16.9% and 10.7% respectively.
