The heating up process of the No. l CDQ （coke dry quenching） oven of the Chongqing Steel was intro- duced, the preparation process before heating up, the warm air drying process, the COG heating up process and the red- hot coke charge process followed by the normal operation process were also expatiated. The key control points at various stages were reported and the problems occurred during heating-up and their solutions were summarized.
