《宠儿》是托妮·莫里森的代表作。作者将整个故事分解成零散的碎片分布在小说的各个章节,再通过人物的历史重忆将其完整地呈现在读者面前,表现了在碎片中求完整、在断裂中求弥合的百衲被特质,达到了唯美的艺术效果。在过去、现在和未来的时空交错中,彰显着美国黑人的血泪与情仇,奋斗和希望。
Beloved is one of Toni Morrison＇s masterpieces. The author tears the story into fragments, puts them into various sections, and presents them as a whole to the readers through the characters＇ historical rememory. The novel embodies the character of quilting aesthetics which binds fusion in fragments. In the circle of past, present and future, it discloses the tears and blood, love and hatred, struggle and hope of African Americans.
