由于微型计算机的不断发展和普及 ,计算机网络正日益受到广大计算机用户的重视。随着网络规模的不断增大 ,网络功能越来越强。网络技术发展的日新月异 ,特别是Internet迅猛发展的今天 ,使我们已经处于计算机网络这种高速信息公路之上 ,但相应产生的问题 ,如 :人们对于信息类型、数据量、数据的实时性等方面需求的提高 ,要求产生一种适应与现代通信需求的网络体系 ,于是多媒体网络随之产生 ,并将成为未来网络的发展趋势。本文就什么是真正的多媒体网络、多媒体网络的关键性技术以及其广泛的应用领域等进行了详细的说明。
