An Overview of Target Recognition Methods in Ballistic Missile Early Warning Radar

摘要 目标识别是弹道导弹防御的关键环节,同时也是防御系统最具挑战性的核心技术难题。从弹道导弹飞行中段和再入段雷达探测的需求出发,论述了目前国内外对弹道导弹雷达探测特征:雷达散射截面积(RCS)、一维距离像(HRRP)、逆合成孔径成像(ISAR)、极化特性等目标特征提取和识别方法,并讨论了基于上述特征的目标识别方法的优缺点。在此基础上,分析了未来弹道导弹目标特征识别技术的研究方向,为今后相关研究提供有益的思路。 Target recognition is the key step for ballistic missile defense and the most challenging problem in the defense system.In this paper,we present the demands of radar detection of ballistic missiles in the middle section and re-entry section first.Then we present some existing methods of ballistic missile feature extraction and recognition using the following characteristics:radar cross section(RCS),high range resolution profile(HRRP),inverse synthetic aperture radar imaging(ISAR),polarization characteristic etc.The advantages and disadvantages of these characteristics based target recognition methods are discussed.At last,some research trends of radar target recognition are analyzed,which provides some valuable thoughts for future relevant research.
