摘要
利用求解边值问题的亥姆赫兹方程和等效折射率近似方法 ,得到了芯区折射率呈锯齿型分布的多量子阱波导TE、TM模场的精确解和等效解 ,并且利用数值计算表明 :在多量子阱波导周期与芯区厚度之比趋于零时 ,精确解和等效解相当好地吻合 .本文的计算表明 。
Field distributions of guided TE and TM modes in a multiple quantum well(MQW) waveguide with a saw tooth refractive index profile are calculated by exact method and by method of equivalent refractive index respectively. Numerical examples demonstrate that the solutions of the two methods agree well when the period of the MQW waveguide is small as compared to the core width. This shows that the method of equivalent refractive index to analyze the characteristics of the MQW waveguide is effective.
