The Warring-States tomb M566 at Bailuzhou was located in the Economic and Tech- nology Development Zone to the east of Lu' an City seat, Anhui Province. In April 2010, a rescue excavation was conducted to this tomb. It was a vertical earthen pit shaft tomb with a passageway, the occupant of which was a female. The tomb was furnished with one outer coffin and three layers of nested inner coffins, all of which were preserved well. In this tomb, bronze ritual vessels, pottery ritual vessels simulated bronze vessels, lacquer and wooden wares and jades and other grave goods were unearthed. The rank of the tomb occupant would be no lower than dafu (grand master, the aristocrats whose rank was one grade lower than feudatory lords) and the date was the later stage of the mid Warring-States Period. The discovery of this tomb enriched the materials of the tombs of the Chu State during the late Warring-States Period in western Anhui and is very meaningful for the researches on the diffusion and de- velopment of Chu Culture in Anhui.
