为适应我国经济、政治健康发展的需要，顺应知识经济发展的潮流，在建设有中国特色的社会主义文化中，必须注重四方面的工作：提高科技文化素质；树立全新的人才观；形成全社会的共同理想和精神支柱（邓小平理论教育、公德教育、生存教育、集体主义教育、爱国主义教育）；促进中外文化的进一步交融．
With the coming of an era of knowledge economy. the effects of information, technology and learning on economic activities are attracting ever greater attention. The world economy is increasingly based on knowledge and information. To maintain China's economic and political health, it is more and more important to construct China's unique socialist culture. Thus four tasks have to be accomplished f improving citizens' quality in science, technology and culture, renewing our views on talents, forming a common ideal and spiritual prop, and furthering cultural exchanges with foreign countries.
