迄今为止，我国的成人高等教育是以各种形式的学校教育为主阵地的，这种情况在新世纪前期将发生根本性变化—一２１世纪，网络教育将成为成人高教的主阵地。
So far, China's higher continuing education has been in various forms of school tutoring. Such situation will be dramatically changed in the early period of the new century. In the 21st century, the dominant form of higher continuing education will be network tutoring.
