Three processes producing chloromethane by the hydrochlorination of methanol:gas liquid phase non catalytic process,gas liquid phase catalytic process and gas solid phase catalytic process were introduced briefly.The production states of chloromethane in China were sized up and gas liquid phase catalytic process and gas solid phase catalytic process were considered to be the major technique to be developed.
