摘要
目的了解国外近5年出版的流行病学英文教材的建设现状,为国内流行病学教材的编写提供参考依据。方法利用亚马逊(Amazon)网站检索近5年的英文流行病学教材,根据教材内容进行分类,通过相应的出版社网站查找一般流行病学教材的概述和目录,提取其相关基本信息,并进行描述性分析。结果检索到2006-2011年国外英文流行病学教材共308本。一般流行病学教材47本,其中48.9%(23/47)是再版教材,再版的时间相隔平均6.3年。测量、方法学、偏倚和因果等3方面是国外一般流行病学教材中最为常见的内容,按这3方面内容分章叙述的教材占57.4%(27/47)。结论国外英文流行病学教材涉及面较广,一般流行病学教材的再版注重时效性、实用性和前沿性的更新。
Objective To describe the current situation of epidemiological textbooks published in English during the recent five years,and to provide reference for the compilation and republication of domestic teaching materials of epidemiology.Methods The Amazon website was searched to identify textbooks of epidemiology in English.The classification of textbooks was based on the contents.Then the websites of corresponding press were accessed to obtain more details about the textbooks of general epidemiology,such as descriptions and contents.The information was extracted using structured form and statistical analysis was also performed.Results 308 eligible textbooks published from 2006 to 2011 were obtained,including 47 general epidemiology textbooks.48.9%(23/47) of all general epidemiological textbooks were reprinted editions,whose median interval between two editions was 6.3 years.57.4%(27/47) of the textbooks were divided into different chapters according to measurement,methodology,bias and causality,which were the three most common aspects in general epidemiological textbooks.Conclusions English epidemiological teaching materials covered a wide range of issues.Timeliness,practicability and frontier fields should be considered when updating the general epidemiological textbooks.
