摘要
通过对我国高校公共英语教学和教改现状,特别是ESP课程教学情况的评述,以及在对合肥工业大学非英语专业本科生、研究生关于公共英语教学问题调研个案分析的基础上,倡导建构根据学生专业及其英语基础等的以ESP课程为主干的"EGP→ESP","ESP+EGP","ESP-BE"等各具特色的英语教学模式,即建立分模块、分类型的公共英语课程体系,强调各类学生的英语教学应结合各自的学科专业,以期提高他们学习英语的兴趣和效率,以及用英语分析问题与解决问题的能力。
Through a review of the existing circumstances of China's college public English teaching and teaching reform,especially the teaching of ESP courses,and on the basis of a case study of public English teaching for non-English majors(both undergraduates and postgraduates) in Hefei University of Technology,this paper advocates to construct,according to students' disciplines and levels,the characteristic English teaching models(EGP→ESP,ESP+EGP,ESP-BE,etc.) with ESP courses in focus,that is to say,to establish public English curriculum systems of different modules or categories.The emphasis is that by means of ESP courses different students' English teaching should be implemented on different disciplines so as to increase students' interest in English,the validity of their English study,and their English abilities to analyze and solve problems.
