Thermodynamic Behavior of E′ Centers in Quartz from Sediments: Application Potential in Geochronometry and Palaeothermometry

摘要 对 8个取自南海珠江口盆地XJ33-2 -1井的样品进行了热力学实验 ,使用电子自旋共振 (ESR)技术获取了样品中石英E′心天然状况下的ESR信号强度I1对经热活化技术处理后石英E′心的ESR信号强度I2 的比值。实验结果表明 :每个样品的活化温度不完全相同 ,这与母岩的特性有关 ;I1/I2 值与古地温呈正相关关系 ;I1/I2 值与地层年龄有很强的相关性 ,相关系数高达0 .99。说明I1/I2 值具有古地温指示和地质计时的实际意义。 The thermodynamic behaviors of E′ centers in 8 quartz samples from core XJ33 2 1 colected in the Zhujiang Mouth Basin were measured by ESR technique. The E′ intensity of samples before any laboratory treatment was firstly measured and is expressed as I 1. The samples were then annealed at 300℃ or 350℃ for 60 minutes and the E′ intensity measured after this procedure is expressed as I 2. The results show: (1) Annealing temperatures are different from sample to sample and depend on characteristics of the parent rocks. (2) The ratios of I 1 to I 2 (I 1/I 2 ) of the samples increase with the sample depth (from 320 m to 3?972 m), showing a correlation between the ratio and the storage temperature of samples. (3) The ratios of I 1 to I 2 (I 1/I 2 ) of the samples have a strong correlation with stratigraphical ages with correlation coefficient of 0.99. Therefore the ratio of I 1 to I 2 promises to become palaeothermometer and has a potential application in geo chronometry.
