Established in 1880, Hosei University enjoyed the longest history of cultivating political & law professionals in Japan. During 1904 and 1909, the university launched an accelerated politics-law program designated for overseas students under the dispatch of the late Qing Government. The 2,117 students were selected among outstanding talents with legal, administrative or political backgrounds. The Chinese Revolutionary League, also known as Tung Meng Hui, was founded in Tokyo, 1905. By the number 860 out of total 963 Tung Meng Hui members, Chinese abroad students or Chinese who were living in Japan made the majority of it. And almost every Chinese overseas student of Hosei University participated in the revolution. The Accelerated Program in Hosei University was dispensable with entrance exams, which was a unique feature. The students could be admitted with the recommendation of Chinese Ambassador alone. Another feature was to admit the students di- reedy from the Imperial Institution of Scholars in Beijing. The candidates were both excellent in their studies and moral behav- iors. A Chinese teaching assistant might also be assumed as a interpreter, intending to form a virtuous cycle of teaching and learning. In the memorable centennial of Xinhai Revolution, after meticulously consulted large quantity of relevant documentary, the author explored the relationship between Xinhai Revolutionaries and Hosei University as a point of penetration. An general survey on the background of the involvement of different regions in Xinhai Revolution is presented.
