Multi-functional Tactile Sensor for Discrimination of Material Properties

摘要 本文介绍一种材质识别多功能触觉传感器 ,它呈平面单一构造 ,但具有三种传感器功能。该传感器由制做在柔性绝缘薄板上的两只金属线圈构成 ,有 4个输入输出端子。当它作电感线圈使用时 ,呈感性功能 ,可以识别金属和半导体材料 ;当它看作一个平面状电容时 ,呈容性功能 ,可以识别绝缘材料 ;而当它用于控温电路时 ,该传感器呈温觉功能。由试做的传感器能识别一些典型的材料如铁、铝、铜、黄铜、橡胶、木材、有机玻璃和发泡塑料等。 This paper describes the development of a tactile sensor, which takes a mono-structure, but has three kinds of sensing functions for discrimination of material properties. The proposed sensor is used to discri minate typical materials such as iron, aluminum, copper, bronze, rubber, wood, acrylic resin, styrene foam and etc. The sensor consists of two spiral metallic lines on a thin insulating substrate and has four terminals. When the two lines are used as coils, the sensor shows the property of inductance. When they are used as two parallel electrodes, the sensor has the property of capacitance. Furthermore, when one as a heater and another one as a temperature sensing resistance, the sensor takes the property of temperature sensor. Some experiments show good results to discriminate each sample of materials. The study is expected as a step to develop an artificial skin tactile sensing system in the future.
