The paper intends to interpret the novel ＂Virgin Soil Upturned＂ by Sholokhov with the new century＇ s ideology. The novel truly reflects a miserable course of former Soviet Union in the period of agricultural collectivization, insightfully excavates human nature and reveals ＂human charm＂ . The tragic ending of the story shows to readers the writer＇ s strong humanitarianism feeling.
