摘要
江苏省是本次普通话普及情况调查选中的一个省份。本文在介绍江苏人口与语言基本情况的基础上对调查结果进行了分析。调查结果显示,普通话在逐步普及,能说普通话的人数比例在不断上升,尤其是农村人口上升的趋势更为明显。正式场合使用普通话的比例也在不断增加,普通话使用的环境在不断改善,人们希望提高自己普通话程度的比例也在上升。这说明新时期推广普通话的工作很有成效。能讲方言的人数虽然有下降的趋势,但从目前看并不显著,并不会影响到方言的生存。非正式场合普通话使用在某些群体有下降的趋势,尤其是在家庭的语言使用中。这说明普通话与方言的不同分工正处于形成过程之中。
Jiangsu is one of the selected provinces for the Survey of Putonghua Popularization. This paper examines the survey results in light of the population and general language situation of the province. The survey shows that putonghua has become popularized gradually, and the population of putonghua speakers is growing, especially those from rural areas. Moreover, putonghua is increasingly used on formal and officialoccasions. The general situation of putonghua use is improving, and there are increasing number of people who wish to improye their putonghua. These results suggest that the popularization of putonghua before and after 2000 is successful. The trend of decreasing number of dialect speakers is discovered, but it is not significant at present and it would not pose threat to the sustainability of dialects. On informal occasions, the number of putonghua speakers is decreasing, particularly in family talk, which shows that the situation in which putonghua and dialects have different home sites.
