摘要
城市新移民在职业身份上多元混杂,希望得到迁移城市的文化和身份认可,而语言则是个人身份认同的外在表现。本文以杭州新移民(包括非白领移民和白领移民)为调查对象,采用问卷调查的方式研究他们语言使用和语言态度的情况。调查表明,在语言使用上,新移民随社交场合的正式程度及与交际对象的关系不同,呈现出普通话和家乡话并存分用的局面。在语言态度上,新移民对普通话存在较高的情感认同、地位评价和功能评价;对家乡话情感评价较高,但功能和社会地位评价较低,而对杭州话的评价正好与家乡话相反。
The new urban immigrants possess diverse occupations and complex identities in a migrant city,in expectation of having cultural and social identity.Since language is the explicit token to signal their fluid identities,this paper aims to analyze the language use and language attitude of lower-class immigrants and white-collar ones.The results demonstrate that regarding language use,the new Hangzhou immigrants generally employ two language varieties,that is,Mandarin and local dialects on different occasions in daily communication.Respecting language attitude,they have a higher evaluation of Mandarin in terms of emotion,function and social status,and a relatively high emotion evaluation,but low function and social status evaluation of local dialects.While towards Hangzhou dialect,their evaluations are just the opposite of local dialects.
