The propagation paths of tidal waves from the Pacific to the northern South China Sea and the regional distributions of sea bottom sand ridges and sand ripples are described.The dynamic environmental characteristics of tide currents and the depositional geomorphic features in each sea area with sand ridges and sand ripples in the northern South China Sea are analyzed.The development and evolution of sea bottom sand ridges and sand ripples are discussed.
