Objective: To investigate characteristics of brain CT value in patients with generalized anxiety disorder(GAD).Methods: 100 patients met the criteria of CCMD-3 generalized anxiety disorder were selected as the research group, and 100 sex and age matches were selected as control group. Two groups were measured with multi-slice spiral head CT and compared with each other.Results:(1) Left brain and right frontal lobe brain tissue CT density values in GAD group(respectively 31.85±1.69,30.83±1.54) were significantly lower than those in the control group(34.46±1.65,34.50±1.65)(both P0.01).(2) In the GAD group,CT density of the right frontal lobe slightly lower value than the left frontal lobe(P0.01);in control group, there were no significant differences of CT density values between right and left frontal lobe brain tissue(P0.05).Conclusion: Both left and right frontal lobe brain tissue CT density values in patients with GAD are lower than those of controls, which might be responsible for the brain's neural anatomy of frontal lobe dysfunction and anxious symptoms might affect on the right prefrontal cortex function.
