摘要
英国小说家简.奥斯丁在其小说《爱玛》中成功地塑造了一些女性人物形象,这些人物在她精准的刻画下各有特点,各自在小说中发挥不同的作用。作品通过对一系列人物和事件的细致描写,揭示出小说的主旨和意义。通过对次要人物哈丽埃特的性格及其在小说中意义的分析,可以从侧面更加清楚地认识女主人公爱玛的性格特征并深刻体会作者细致入微的洞察力。
English writer Jane Austen successfully portrayed some female images in her novel Emma;these characters had their own features under her precise description,and played different roles in the novel.She revealed the major idea and meaning of the novel through the meticulous description about the set of persons and events.The article tries to analyze the minor character Harriet＇s character and her significance in the novel so that it will helpful for the readers to recognize the heroine Emma more clearly from one side and acutely feel author＇s more taste and insight.
