摘要
本文通过比较中国和美国学生对完全相同的3则寓言的不同解读,分析中美学生之间在联想能力、创作能力、分析能力上的异同,发现中国学生以联想能力见长,而美国学生以文学创作、分析能力见长,进而指出我国新型英语写作教学在继承培养发散思维的传统上,要致力于开发学生的创造性思维、分析能力和系统性思维,并培养学生的跨文化意识。
This essay is a comparative study of Chinese and American students’ interpretations of the same three parables.It investigates the similarity and difference between Chinese and American students in terms of their associative,creative writing,and analytical abilities as well as cultures.The comparison shows that Chinese students are good at associative abilities while American students good at creative writing and analytical abilities.Accordingly,English composition teachers in China while continuing the tradition of divergent thinking training,need to enhance students’ creative,analytical,and systematic thinking abilities and intercultural awareness.
