Monitoring the settlement of soft soil roadbed and lateral displacement is necessary.It can not only determine the preloading time of roadbed and paving road surface,but also direct the paving rate of roadbed and evaluate the adaptability of soft soil roadbed treatment.The paper introduces the aim and functions of settlement and lateral displacement,supervising procedures and layout principle of observation point.It can direct the supervision of soft soil roadbed settlement and lateral displacement.
