Mediating Effect of Social Support in Relationship Between Materialism and Anxiety

摘要 目的:探索社会支持在高中生物欲动机与焦虑之间的中介作用。方法:运用问卷法,对北京市494名高中生的物欲动机、社会支持和焦虑水平进行测查。结果:①高物欲动机与焦虑存在显著正相关(r=0.166);低社会支持与焦虑存在显著正相关(r=0.232);高物欲动机与低社会支持存在显著正相关(r=0.233);②社会支持是物欲动机影响焦虑的中介变量,其中介效应为0.045,中介效应占总效应的比例为41.1%。结论:高物欲动机的高中生的社会支持水平较低,而社会支持是焦虑的保护因素,过度注重物欲的个体更易发生焦虑。 Objective: To explore the mediating effects of social support in the relationship between materialism and anxiety.Methods: 494 high school students from two high schools in Beijing city were surveyed with questionnaires of "Aspiration Index"(AI-35),Social Support Scale for Adolescents(SSSA) and Multidimensional Anxiety Scale for Children(MASC).Results: ①Significant positive correlations were found between high materialism and anxiety(r=0.166)and low social support(r=0.232);while positive correlations between low social support and anxiety(r=0.232);②The relationship between materialism and anxiety was mediated by social support,and the mediating effect was 0.045,which accounted for 41.1% of the total effect.Conclusion: A sound social support system is a protective factor for preventing the anxiety to adolescents.Adolescents turn to possess poor quality of social support system while they are maintaining high level of materialism value.Adolescents who focus on materialism are apt to have anxiety symptom.
