摘要
在翻译的历史长河中,直译(直接翻译)和意译(间接翻译)都曾为翻译的实践和理论建设发挥过积极的作用,但也曾因为固守传统观念,没能与时俱进而使它们在推进翻译研究过程中成为不利的因素。如何在新的翻译理论话语中重新解读那些具有悠久历史的、深深植根于翻译体验和感悟中的翻译观念是摆在新时期翻译理论工作者面前的一个不容回避的问题。关联理论是西方近年来有着广泛影响力的认知语用学理论,把它应用于翻译研究产生了关联翻译理论。在其论域中,古老的直译和意译被赋予了新意,获得了新生。
In the long history of translation studies,both direct translation and indirect translation have greatly contributed to the development of translation studies in terms of practice and theoretical construction,yet they can also be obstacles in the way of translation development if they are firmly confined to the old traditional ideas regardless of the changed environment.How to read and understand the long-lived translation terms deeply rooted in the direct translation experience is an ergent and unavoidable qestion to the translation theorists in modern times.Relevance Theory is the theory of lingustic pragmatics which has wide spread influence in recent years.To apply this theory to translation studies translation relevance theory has been constructed.In the domain of translation relevance theory,the old translation terms ＂direct translation＂ and ＂indirect translation＂ have been endowed with new meaning and new life.
