摘要
利用几率密度矩阵法描述吸收-发射过程,并对稀土离子掺杂的玻璃光纤中传播模计算分析,论证了掺杂光纤介质中受激有效截面满足菲切保尔-拉登贝格修正关系式;同时,揭示了这种光纤的光增益效应。基于此法,实验上测试了三种掺钕玻璃光纤的受激有效截面σ,其值介于0.97~4.99×10^(-20)cm^2 之间。
This report represents tbe method of density matrix to describe the process absorption-emission in a RE-doped glass fiber and deals with the calculation of tbe propagating modes in the fiber. From this semiclassical theory, it's juatied that the use of the Fuchtbauer-Ladenburg modi-fied relation for fiber waveguide, also the optical gain for the fiber is studied. Induced-emission cross section a with three kinds of Nd3+-doped glass fiber is experimentally investigated based on the method of the F-L modified relation, and a values are 0. 97 to 4. 99x10-20 cm2 for the fibers used.
