摘要
唐宋时代生态环境渐趋恶化,大鼋叙事偏重大鼋向救己恩人报恩;佛教果报思想影响大鼋化为人形报复。明清小说热衷表现勇士搏杀巨鼋;大鼋对捕杀者的报复富有智慧和幽默感,站在水族立场上控诉捕杀罪行,让捕杀者感受被宰割的恐惧,注意表现巨鼋威能。《聊斋志异》遭中巨鼋吃人,被人复仇,其捕钓方式、诱饵品种都直接来自宋人传闻;清人大鼋传说还进入到治河故事中,报恩成为对巨鼋能力的实用性期盼;食鼋者遭厄运的共同点是,或杀戮过多,或见死不救,因而咎在自身。
The ecological environment was becoming increasingly worse in Tang and Song dynasties.The narration of the soft-shell turtles stresses that they repay an obligation to those who saved them;Comeuppance ideas of Buddhism offer a great improvement on the soft-shell turtle which makes reprisals in the shape of a man.Ming and Qing novels provide enthusiastic descriptions of warriors who fight and kill the soft-shell turtle.The soft-shell turtle succeeds in revenging the killers in a sensible and humorous manner.They accuse the killers of their crime by taking the stand of aquatic animals,letting the killers feel the fear of being invaded and showing the power of the soft-shell turtle.In Liao Zhai Zhi Yi,the revenge by the turtle,the fishing way and baits of different brands are all directly derived from hearsays in the Song Synasty;the soft-shell turtle legend is also included in the river-taming stories in Qing Dynasty;repaying an obligation turns into a practical expectation of the ability of the turtle;those who eat turtles suffer misfortunes either because they killed too many turtles or because they did not save turtles when they were in danger.
