摘要
为了解释Hg等过渡金属元素单质具有较低沸点和较小汽化热等特殊的物理性质,以八个价电子的稀有气体元素的性质作类比,应用价电子对互斥理论的思想,把稀有气体元素具有较低沸点和较小汽化热等性质与按照价电子对互斥理论得到的具有较高对称性的价电子对构型关联起来。在此基础上,把价电子对互斥理论的思想应用于处理Hg和Yb等金属元素的价电子结构,得出了这些元素的价层电子排布具有较高对称性的结果,从而解释了它们的特殊物理性质产生的根本原因。
In order to explain the special physical properties of Hg and other transition metal elements,by contrasting with the 8-valence-electron rule of rare gas elements,the low boiling point,small vaporization heat and other special properties of rare gas elements are correlated with the high symmetry valence shell electronic structure by the valene-shell electron pair repulsion theory.On this basis,the valence-shell electron pair repulsion theory is further applied to the explanation of the special properties of Hg,Yb and other transition metal elements,and the reason of their special properties are attributed to the high valence pair electronic structures of the transition metal elements.
