摘要
众所周知,异步传输模式(ATM)网络的带宽可以满足多媒体应用的需求。在ATM网络中,交换机是一个主要的瓶颈。本文中,我们准备采用多路分段式环形总线网(MPCBN)来构造ATM交换机,它采用多路总线来提供并行传输,并可以通过有限投影平面来使硬件复杂度由一般多路总线的O(N^2)降低到O(NN^(1/2)),并且可以使信元丢失率维持在几乎不变的水平上。
It is known that the flexibility and capacity of asynchronous transfer mode (ATM)networks can meet the bandwidth requirements of multimedia applications. In ATM networks, switching is one of the major bottlenecks. In this paper, we propose using a multiple partitionable circular bus network(MPCBN) for making an ATM switch. Parallel transfer is implemented by using multiple buses. An approach of using finite projective planes is then used to reduce the number of switch points from 0(N2 )to 0(N N) ,and it merely results in a small increase of cell loss probability.
