阐述了现代表面工程技术的进展，以及它的功能与作用，并探讨了推行表面与整体同时设计，追求高效产品或工程所存在的问题和建议。
This paper described the progress of modern surface engineering techniques, their functions and rdos, and made an approach to the simulfaneous design for the surface and bulk of materials in order to achieve the high efficiency products or projecls finally some suggestions were provided as well.
