都市农业是一种与城市经济、文化、科学、技术密切相关的农业现象，是都市经济发展到较高水平，农村与城市、农业与非农业等进一步融合过程中的一种发达的现代农业。都市农业是大城市的一个有机组成部分，定位在城市化地区及其周边地区，是充分利用大城市提供的科技成果及现代化设备进行生产，并紧密服务于城市的现代化农业。都市农业反映了工业化和城市化高度发展后人类对新时代农业的一种探索。
The city agriculture is a type of agricultural phenomenon related to city economy, culture, science and technology, and a type of developed modern agriculture in the combination of village and city, agriculture and non-agriculture with the higher level development of the city economy. The city agriculture is a part of the large city, located in the suburb and around the city, makjing full use of the scientific and technological achievements and modern equipment and serving for the large city. the city agriculture reflects a type of probation to the new agriculture after the industrializiation and citification, in the same time it meets the modern city's interior demand.
