摘要
一、建立高校期刊资源保障体系的主要目的期刊资源在高校教学和科研中占有重要地位,但目前我国高校期刊资源相当贫乏,严重影响着教学和科研,因此,建立期刊资源保障体系成了高校图书情报工作的当务之急,这是因为:(一)期刊是高校教学和科研的主要情报来源。高校图书馆的主要任务是为教学和科研服务,而用以服务的主要物质基础是文献。目前,出版物的类型很多。
Periodicals are the main resource from which information is acquired.According to statistics,70percent of information required for teaching and scientific research comes from peridicals.There arenow in the world 300,000 titles of back periodicals and 150,000 current ones in foreign languagesand 45,000 titles of back periodicals and 8,000 current ones in Chinese.However,the current peri-odicals in foreign languages ordered by colleges and universities of China are less than 20,000 titles.Periodicals in these institutions of higher learning are not only less in quantity,but also of a repeti-tion,dispersion and very low supply rate.The contridiction of supply and demand will become sharperin the wake of subscription price rising and lack of funds.So it is imminent to establish periodical sup-ply system in colleges and universities.1 table,7 references
