Study on Wear Mechanism of Filled Polytetrafluoroethylene Based Composites

摘要 通过用几种无机物及不同硬度的金属网填充的聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)基复合材料的磨损性能研究,认为填料减磨的主要机理是由其在摩擦界面上支承载荷的结果。对金属对偶表面上转移膜的俄歇(AES)深度剖析表明,不锈钢丝网填充PTFE基复合材料形成的转移膜的厚度要比用铜网填充的复合材料形成的薄得多。用不锈钢网和无机物共同填充的复合材料的磨损比纯无机物填充的复合材料的低得多。还根据电子显微镜观察结果对磨屑的形成过程进行了探讨。 The conclusion that load-supporting of fillers in composites on frictional interface is a main mechanism of reducing wear of fillers could be drawn by study of wear behaviour of polytetrafluoro-ethylene ( PTFE ) based composites filled by inorganic fillers incorporating with metallic net with different stiffness. Data of AES-profile analysis of transfer films on metal counterfaces show that transfer film formed by PTFE based composites with stainless steel net is thinner than that formed by the composite with copper net. Wear rate of PTFE based composites filled by stainless steel net incorporating with inorganic fillers is far less than that of the composites only with inorganic fillers.Based on observation of scanning electron microscopy, the process of formation of wear debris was also discussed.
