In this paper, the theoretical analysis of the direct torque control has carried out. A novel approach to estimating the induction motor speed is presented. This method is based on the theory of the model reference adaptive identification algorithm. From the computer simulation it is shown that the speed senseless direct torque control system using this method had good performance.
