摘要
中西文化在宗族观念,生育观念和礼貌观念上都具有很大的差异,导致汉英亲属称谓系统的不同。这种称谓语的"不对等"现象在翻译中造成很大的问题。功能主义翻译理论使翻译标准和翻译策略多元化,能够很好地解决汉英亲属称谓语的翻译问题。
English and Chinese kinship terms belong to different kinship systems because of the different conception in English and Chinese cultures.It cause a big problem in translation which can be solved by appling Fnctionalist theory in translation.
