摘要
赫钦斯的高等教育思想充满了对大学批判功能的呼唤。他认为,大学是独立思想或批判中心,批判是大学的独特功能,是大学对社会应负的责任。教师和学生通过交流和沟通来发挥批判功能,并认为通过名著提供的经验有助于形成学生的鉴赏和批判标准,通过苏格拉底式的教学来激发学生的批判意识,强调学生的社会责任感和独立而高尚的人格。今天,在大学功能越来越多的情况下,我们仍然要强化大学的批判功能。
Hutchins＇ higher educational ideology is full of the call for the university＇s critical function.He thinks that the university is the center of independent ideology or critique center and critique is the unique function of the university as well as its due responsibility to the society.Professors and students carry out the critical function through exchanges and communications,and thinks that the experiences provided by the academic classics can help student form the criteria of appreciation and criticism and that the Socratic teaching can be helpful in inspiring students critical consciousness,emphasizing their social responsibility as well as their independent and noble personality.Today,there are more and more functions of the university,but we still need to stress and strengthen the critical function of the university.
