摘要
本文综合介绍国外局域网和汽车用的各种塑料光纤的发展情况,从最早的聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯(PMMA)突变折射率(SI)塑料光纤到近年来的全氟化PMMA渐变折射率(GI)塑料光纤。还介绍了除最初使用的650~660nm传输窗口以外的520nm、780nm和1300nm等传输窗口。文章还报道了汽车用的耐热光纤和为了保护塑料光纤而采用的皱纹微管技术。文章最后提出了塑料光纤今后的工作内容。
The present paper reviews the development of polymer optical fibers (POF) for use in local area network (LAN) and automobiles in foreign countries. POFs from the earliest PMMA SI type to the most recent perfluorinated PMMA GI type are discussed. The use of 520nm, 780nm,and 1300nm transmission windows besides the most common 650 ̄660nm window is presented. Heatresistant POF and protective corrugated micro tube (CMT) for POF are also reported. The paper finally suggests the work to be done on POF in the future.
